Sura 90 - Al-Balad

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Kwa Jina La Mwenyezi Mungu, Mwingi Wa Rehema, Mwenye Kurehemu.
90:1
لَا أُقْسِمُ بِهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ
*Naapa kwa Mji huu!
*I swear by this town,
90:2
وَأَنْتَ حِلٌّ بِهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ
*Nawe unaukaa Mji huu.
*as you reside in this town;
90:3
وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ
*Na naapa kwa mzazi na alicho kizaa.
*[and] by the father and him whom he begot:
90:4
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ
*Hakika tumemuumba mtu katika taabu.
*certainly We created man in travail.
90:5
أَيَحْسَبُ أَنْ لَنْ يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ
*Ati anadhani hapana yeyote ataye muweza?
*Does he suppose that no one will ever have power over him?
90:6
يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُبَدًا
*Anasema: Nimeteketeza chungu ya mali.
*He says, ‘I have squandered immense wealth.’
90:7
أَيَحْسَبُ أَنْ لَمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ
*Ati anadhani ya kuwa hapana yeyote anaye mwona?
*Does he suppose that no one sees him?
90:8
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَهُ عَيْنَيْنِ
*Kwani hatukumpa macho mawili?
*Have We not made for him two eyes,
90:9
وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ
*Na ulimi, na midomo miwili?
*a tongue, and two lips,
90:10
وَهَدَيْنَاهُ النَّجْدَيْنِ
*Na tukambainishia zote njia mbili?
*and shown him the two paths [of good and evil]?
90:11
فَلَا اقْتَحَمَ الْعَقَبَةَ
*Lakini hakujitoma kwenye njia ya vikwazo vya milimani.
*Yet he has not embarked upon the uphill task.
90:12
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْعَقَبَةُ
*Na nini kitakujuvya ni nini njia ya vikwazo vya milimani?
*And what will show you what is the uphill task?
90:13
فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ
*Kumkomboa mtumwa;
*[It is] the freeing of a slave,
90:14
أَوْ إِطْعَامٌ فِي يَوْمٍ ذِي مَسْغَبَةٍ
*Au kumlisha siku ya njaa
*or feeding, during days of [general] starvation,
90:15
يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ
*Yatima aliye jamaa,
*an orphan among relatives
90:16
أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ
*Au masikini aliye vumbini.
*or a needy man in desolation,
90:17
ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِ
*Tena awe miongoni mwa walio amini na wakausiana kusubiri na wakausiana kuhurumiana.
*while being one of those who have faith and enjoin one another to patience, and enjoin one another to compassion.
90:18
أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ
*Hao ndio watu wa kheri wa kuliani.
*They are the People of the Right Hand.
90:19
وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ
*Lakini walio zikataa Ishara zetu, hao ndio watu wa shari wa kushotoni.
*But those who defy Our signs, they are the People of the Left Hand.
90:20
عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُؤْصَدَةٌ
*Juu yao utakuwa Moto ulio fungiwa kila upande.
*A closed Fire will be [imposed] upon them.
