Sura 28 - Al-Qasas

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Kwa Jina La Mwenyezi Mungu, Mwingi Wa Rehema, Mwenye Kurehemu.
28:1
طسم
*T´A SIN MIM, (T´.S.M.)
*Ta, Seen, Meem.
28:2
تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ
*Hizi ni Aya za Kitabu kinacho bainisha.
*These are the signs of the Manifest Book.
28:3
نَتْلُو عَلَيْكَ مِنْ نَبَإِ مُوسَىٰ وَفِرْعَوْنَ بِالْحَقِّ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
*Tunakusomea khabari za Musa na Firauni kwa Haki kwa ajili ya watu wanao amini.
*We relate to you truly some of the account of Moses and Pharaoh for a people who have faith.
28:4
إِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ عَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلَ أَهْلَهَا شِيَعًا يَسْتَضْعِفُ طَائِفَةً مِنْهُمْ يُذَبِّحُ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيِي نِسَاءَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُفْسِدِينَ
*Hakika Firauni alitakabari katika nchi, na akawagawa wananchi makundi mbali mbali. Akalidhoofisha taifa moja miongoni mwao, akiwachinja watoto wao wanaume na akiwaacha watoto wao wanawake. Hakika yeye alikuwa katika mafisadi.
*Indeed Pharaoh tyrannized over the land, reducing its people to factions, abasing one group of them, slaughtering their sons, and sparing their women. Indeed, He was one of the agents of corruption.
28:5
وَنُرِيدُ أَنْ نَمُنَّ عَلَى الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَنَجْعَلَهُمْ أَئِمَّةً وَنَجْعَلَهُمُ الْوَارِثِينَ
*Na tukataka kuwafadhili walio dhoofishwa katika nchi hiyo na kuwafanya wawe waongozi na kuwafanya ni warithi.
*And We desired to show favour to those who were abased in the land, and to make them imams, and to make them the heirs,
28:6
وَنُمَكِّنَ لَهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَنُرِيَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا مِنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَحْذَرُونَ
*Na kuwapa nguvu katika nchi, na kutokana na wao kuwaonyesha kina Firauni na Hamana na majeshi yao mambo yale waliyo kuwa wakiyaogopa.
*and to establish them in the land, and to show Pharaoh and Haman and their hosts from them that of which they were apprehensive.
28:7
وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰ أَنْ أَرْضِعِيهِ ۖ فَإِذَا خِفْتِ عَلَيْهِ فَأَلْقِيهِ فِي الْيَمِّ وَلَا تَخَافِي وَلَا تَحْزَنِي ۖ إِنَّا رَادُّوهُ إِلَيْكِ وَجَاعِلُوهُ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
*Tulimfunulia mama yake Musa kwa kumwambia: Mnyonyeshe. Na utakapo mkhofia basi mtie mtoni, na usikhofu wala usihuzunike. Hakika Sisi tutamrudisha kwako na tutamfanya miongoni mwa Mitume.
*We revealed to Moses’ mother, [saying], ‘Nurse him; then, when you fear for him, cast him into the river, and do not fear or grieve, for We will restore him to you and make him one of the apostles.’
28:8
فَالْتَقَطَهُ آلُ فِرْعَوْنَ لِيَكُونَ لَهُمْ عَدُوًّا وَحَزَنًا ۗ إِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا كَانُوا خَاطِئِينَ
*Basi wakamwokota watu wa Firauni, aje kuwa adui kwao na huzuni. Hakika Firauni na Hamana na majeshi yao walikuwa wenye makosa.
*Then Pharaoh’s kinsmen picked him up that he might be an enemy and a cause of grief to them. Indeed Pharaoh and Haman and their hosts were iniquitous.
28:9
وَقَالَتِ امْرَأَتُ فِرْعَوْنَ قُرَّتُ عَيْنٍ لِي وَلَكَ ۖ لَا تَقْتُلُوهُ عَسَىٰ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنَا أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُ وَلَدًا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
*Na mkewe Firauni alisema: Atakuwa kiburudisho cha macho kwangu na kwako. Msimuuwe! Huenda akatufaa, au tumpange kuwa mwenetu. Wala wao hawakutambua.
*Pharaoh’s wife said [to him], ‘[This infant will be] a [source of] comfort to me and to you. Do not kill him. Maybe he will benefit us, or we will adopt him as a son.’ But they were not aware.
28:10
وَأَصْبَحَ فُؤَادُ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰ فَارِغًا ۖ إِنْ كَادَتْ لَتُبْدِي بِهِ لَوْلَا أَنْ رَبَطْنَا عَلَىٰ قَلْبِهَا لِتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
*Na moyo wa mama yake Musa ukawa mtupu. Alikuwa karibu kumdhihirisha, ingeli kuwa hatukumtia nguvu moyo wake ili awe miongoni mwa Waumini.
*The heart of Moses’ mother became desolate, and indeed she was about to divulge it had We not fortified her heart so that she might have faith [in Allah’s promise].
28:11
وَقَالَتْ لِأُخْتِهِ قُصِّيهِ ۖ فَبَصُرَتْ بِهِ عَنْ جُنُبٍ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
*Naye akamwambia dada yake Musa: Mfuatie. Basi naye akawa anamuangalia kwa mbali bila ya wao kujua.
*She said to his sister, ‘Follow him.’ So she watched him from a distance, while they were not aware.
28:12
وَحَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْمَرَاضِعَ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَقَالَتْ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ يَكْفُلُونَهُ لَكُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُ نَاصِحُونَ
*Na tukamjaalia awakatae wanyonyeshaji wote tangu mwanzo, mpaka dada yake akasema: Je! Nikuonyesheni watu wa nyumba watakao mlea kwa ajili yenu, nao pia watakuwa wema kwake?
*Since before We had forbidden him to be suckled by any nurse. So she said, ‘Shall I show you a household that will take care of him for you and they will be his well-wishers?’
28:13
فَرَدَدْنَاهُ إِلَىٰ أُمِّهِ كَيْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَلِتَعْلَمَ أَنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
*Basi tukamrudisha kwa mama yake ili macho yake yaburudike, wala asihuzunike. Na ajue ya kwamba ahadi ya Mwenyezi Mungu ni ya kweli, lakini wengi wao hawajui.
*That is how We restored him to his mother so that she might be comforted and not grieve, and that she might know that Allah’s promise is true, but most of them do not know.
28:14
وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ وَاسْتَوَىٰ آتَيْنَاهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ
*Na Musa alipo fika utu-uzima baraabara, tulimpa akili na ilimu. Na hivi ndivyo tunavyo walipa walio wema.
*When he came of age and became fully matured, We gave him judgement and knowledge, and thus do We reward the virtuous.
28:15
وَدَخَلَ الْمَدِينَةَ عَلَىٰ حِينِ غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتَتِلَانِ هَٰذَا مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ وَهَٰذَا مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ ۖ فَاسْتَغَاثَهُ الَّذِي مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ عَلَى الَّذِي مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ فَوَكَزَهُ مُوسَىٰ فَقَضَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ۖ قَالَ هَٰذَا مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ ۖ إِنَّهُ عَدُوٌّ مُضِلٌّ مُبِينٌ
*Na akaingia mjini wakati wa kughafilika wenyeji wake, na akakuta humo watu wawili wanapigana - mmoja ni katika wenzake, na mwengine katika maadui zake. Yule mwenzake alimtaka msaada kumpiga adui yake. Musa akampiga ngumi, akamuuwa. Akasema: Hiki ni kitendo cha Shet´ani; hakika yeye ni adui, mpotezaji dhaahiri.
*[One day] he entered the city at a time when its people were not likely to take notice. He found there two men fighting, this one from among his followers, and that one from his enemies. The one who was from his followers sought his help against him who was from his enemies. So Moses hit him with his fist, whereupon he expired. He said, ‘This is of Satan’s doing. Indeed he is clearly a misguiding enemy.’
28:16
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
*Akasema: Mola wangu Mlezi! Hakika mimi nimejidhulumu nafsi yangu; basi nisamehe. Akamsamehe; hakika Yeye ni Mwenye kusamehe Mwenye kurehemu.
*He said, ‘My Lord! I have wronged myself. Forgive me!’ So He forgave him. Indeed, He is the All-forgiving, the All-merciful.
28:17
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَا أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنْ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرًا لِلْمُجْرِمِينَ
*Akasema: Mola wangu Mlezi! Kwa ulivyo nineemesha, basi mimi sitakuwa kabisa msaidizi wa wakosefu.
*He said, ‘My Lord! As You have blessed me, I will never be a supporter of the guilty.’
28:18
فَأَصْبَحَ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ خَائِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا الَّذِي اسْتَنْصَرَهُ بِالْأَمْسِ يَسْتَصْرِخُهُ ۚ قَالَ لَهُ مُوسَىٰ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِيٌّ مُبِينٌ
*Akapambazukiwa mjini asubuhi naye ana khofu, akiangalia huku na huku. Mara yule yule aliye mtaka msaada jana akawa anampigia kelele amsaidie. Musa akamwambia: Hakika wewe ni mgomvi kweli kweli.
*He rose at dawn in the city, fearful and vigilant, when behold, the one who had sought his help the day before, shouted for his help [once again]. Moses said to him, ‘You are indeed clearly perverse!’
28:19
فَلَمَّا أَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَبْطِشَ بِالَّذِي هُوَ عَدُوٌّ لَهُمَا قَالَ يَا مُوسَىٰ أَتُرِيدُ أَنْ تَقْتُلَنِي كَمَا قَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا بِالْأَمْسِ ۖ إِنْ تُرِيدُ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ جَبَّارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُصْلِحِينَ
*Basi alipo taka kumshika kwa nguvu yule aliye adui wao wote wawili, akasema: Ewe Musa! Unataka kuniuwa kama ulivyo muuwa mtu jana? Wewe hutaki ila kuwa jabari katika nchi, wala hutaki kuwa miongoni mwa wenye maslaha..
*But when he wanted to strike him who was an enemy of both of them, he said, ‘Moses, do you want to kill me, just like the one you killed yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land, and you do not desire to be one who brings about reform.’
28:20
وَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَا مُوسَىٰ إِنَّ الْمَلَأَ يَأْتَمِرُونَ بِكَ لِيَقْتُلُوكَ فَاخْرُجْ إِنِّي لَكَ مِنَ النَّاصِحِينَ
*Na akaja mtu kutoka mwisho wa mji akipiga mbio, akasema: Ewe Musa! Wakubwa wanashauriana kukuuwa. Basi toka! Hakika mimi ni katika wanao kupa nasaha.
*There came a man from the city outskirts, hurrying. He said, ‘Moses! The elite are indeed conspiring to kill you. So leave. I am indeed your well-wisher.’
28:21
فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَائِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ ۖ قَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
*Basi akatoka, naye ana khofu, akiangalia huku na huku. Akasema: Mola wangu Mlezi! Niokoe na watu madhaalimu.
*So he left the city, fearful and vigilant. He said, ‘My Lord! Deliver me from the wrongdoing lot.’
28:22
وَلَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلْقَاءَ مَدْيَنَ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبِّي أَنْ يَهْدِيَنِي سَوَاءَ السَّبِيلِ
*Na alipo elekea upande wa Madyana alisema: Asaa Mola wangu Mlezi akaniongoa njia iliyo sawa.
*And when he turned his face toward Midian, he said, ‘Maybe my Lord will show me the right way.’
28:23
وَلَمَّا وَرَدَ مَاءَ مَدْيَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ أُمَّةً مِنَ النَّاسِ يَسْقُونَ وَوَجَدَ مِنْ دُونِهِمُ امْرَأَتَيْنِ تَذُودَانِ ۖ قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُمَا ۖ قَالَتَا لَا نَسْقِي حَتَّىٰ يُصْدِرَ الرِّعَاءُ ۖ وَأَبُونَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ
*Na alipo yafikia maji ya Madyana alikuta umati wa watu wananywesha (wanyama wao), na akakuta karibu yao wanawake wawili wanawazuia wanyama wao. Akasema: Mna nini? Wakasema: Hatunyweshi sisi mpaka wamalize hao wachunga. Na baba yetu ni mzee sana.
*When he arrived at the well of Midian, he found there a throng of people watering [their flocks], and he found, besides them, two women holding back [their flock]. He said, ‘What is your business?’ They said, ‘We do not water [our flock] until the shepherds have driven out [their flocks], and our father is an aged man.’
28:24
فَسَقَىٰ لَهُمَا ثُمَّ تَوَلَّىٰ إِلَى الظِّلِّ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
*Basi Musa akawanyweshea; kisha akarudi kivulini, na akasema: Mola wangu Mlezi! Hakika mimi ni mhitaji wa kheri utakayo niteremshia.
*So he watered [their flock] for them. Then he withdrew toward the shade and said, ‘My Lord! I am indeed in need of any good You may send down to me!’
28:25
فَجَاءَتْهُ إِحْدَاهُمَا تَمْشِي عَلَى اسْتِحْيَاءٍ قَالَتْ إِنَّ أَبِي يَدْعُوكَ لِيَجْزِيَكَ أَجْرَ مَا سَقَيْتَ لَنَا ۚ فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُ وَقَصَّ عَلَيْهِ الْقَصَصَ قَالَ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ نَجَوْتَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
*Basi mmoja katika wale wanawake wawili akamjia, naye anaona haya. Akasema: Baba yangu anakwita akulipe ujira wa kutunyweshea. Basi alipo mjia na akamsimulia visa vyake, alisema: Usiogope; umekwisha okoka kwenye watu madhaalimu.
*Then one of the two women approached him, walking bashfully. She said, ‘Indeed my father invites you to pay you the wages for watering [our flock] for us.’ So when he came to him and recounted the story to him, he said, ‘Do not be afraid. You have been delivered from the wrongdoing lot.’
28:26
قَالَتْ إِحْدَاهُمَا يَا أَبَتِ اسْتَأْجِرْهُ ۖ إِنَّ خَيْرَ مَنِ اسْتَأْجَرْتَ الْقَوِيُّ الْأَمِينُ
*Akasema mmoja katika wale wanawake: Ewe baba yetu! Muajiri huyu. Hakika mbora wa kumuajiri ni mwenye nguvu na muaminifu.
*One of the two women said, ‘Father, hire him. Indeed the best you can hire is a powerful and trustworthy man.’
28:27
قَالَ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُنْكِحَكَ إِحْدَى ابْنَتَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ عَلَىٰ أَنْ تَأْجُرَنِي ثَمَانِيَ حِجَجٍ ۖ فَإِنْ أَتْمَمْتَ عَشْرًا فَمِنْ عِنْدِكَ ۖ وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَيْكَ ۚ سَتَجِدُنِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
*Akasema: Mimi nataka kukuoza mmojawapo katika binti zangu hawa wawili kwa kunitumikia miaka minane. Ukitimiza kumi, khiari yako; lakini mimi sitaki kukutaabisha. Inshallah utanikuta miongoni mwa watu wema.
*He said, ‘Indeed I desire to marry you to one of these two daughters of mine, on condition that you hire yourself to me for eight years. And if you complete ten, that will be up to you, and I do not want to be hard on you. God willing, you will find me to a righteous person.’
28:28
قَالَ ذَٰلِكَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكَ ۖ أَيَّمَا الْأَجَلَيْنِ قَضَيْتُ فَلَا عُدْوَانَ عَلَيَّ ۖ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٌ
*Musa akasema: Hayo yamekwisha kuwa baina yangu na wewe. Muda mmojapo nikiumaliza sitiwi ubayani. Na Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mlinzi juu ya haya tunayo yasema.
*He said, ‘This will be [by consent] between you and me. Whichever of the two terms I complete, there shall be no imposition upon me, and Allah is witness over what we say.’
28:29
فَلَمَّا قَضَىٰ مُوسَى الْأَجَلَ وَسَارَ بِأَهْلِهِ آنَسَ مِنْ جَانِبِ الطُّورِ نَارًا قَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ امْكُثُوا إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارًا لَعَلِّي آتِيكُمْ مِنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوْ جَذْوَةٍ مِنَ النَّارِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُونَ
*Basi alipo timiza muda wake na akasafiri na ahali zake, aliona moto upande wa Mlima T´uri. Akawaambia ahali zake: Ngojeni! Mimi nimeona moto, labda nitakuleteeni kutoka huko khabari au kijinga cha moto ili mpate kuota moto.
*So when Moses completed the term and set out with his family, he descried a fire on the side of the mountain. He said to his family, ‘Wait! Indeed, I descry a fire! Maybe I will bring you some news from it, or a brand of fire so that you may warm yourselves.’
28:30
فَلَمَّا أَتَاهَا نُودِيَ مِنْ شَاطِئِ الْوَادِ الْأَيْمَنِ فِي الْبُقْعَةِ الْمُبَارَكَةِ مِنَ الشَّجَرَةِ أَنْ يَا مُوسَىٰ إِنِّي أَنَا اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ
*Basi alipo ufikia aliitwa kutoka ng´ambo ya bonde la kuliani katika eneo lilio barikiwa kutoka kwenye mti: Ewe Musa! Hakika Mimi ni Mwenyezi Mungu, Mola Mlezi wa walimwengu wote.
*When he approached it, he was called from the right bank of the valley in that blessed site from the tree: ‘Moses! Indeed I am Allah, the Lord of all the worlds!’
28:31
وَأَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ فَلَمَّا رَآهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَانٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ ۚ يَا مُوسَىٰ أَقْبِلْ وَلَا تَخَفْ ۖ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الْآمِنِينَ
*Na tupa chini fimbo yako. Basi alipo iona ikitikisika kama nyoka, akarudi nyuma wala hakutazama. (Akaambiwa): Ewe Musa! Njoo mbele wala usiogope. Hakika wewe ni miongoni mwa walio salimika.
*And: ‘Throw down your staff!’ And when he saw it wriggling as if it were a snake, he turned his back [to flee], without looking back. ‘Moses! Come forward, and do not be afraid. Indeed you are safe.’
28:32
اسْلُكْ يَدَكَ فِي جَيْبِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَاءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوءٍ وَاضْمُمْ إِلَيْكَ جَنَاحَكَ مِنَ الرَّهْبِ ۖ فَذَانِكَ بُرْهَانَانِ مِنْ رَبِّكَ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا فَاسِقِينَ
*Ingiza mkono wako kwenye mfuko wako, utatoka mweupe pasipo na ubaya. Na jiambatishe mkono wako ukihisi khofu. Basi hizi ni dalili mbili zitokazo kwa Mola wako Mlezi kumpelekea Firauni na wakuu wa umma wake. Hakika hao walikuwa watu mafaasiki.
*‘Insert your hand into your shirt. It will emerge white, without any fault, and keep your arms drawn in awe to your sides. These shall be two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his elite. They are indeed a transgressing lot.’
28:33
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي قَتَلْتُ مِنْهُمْ نَفْسًا فَأَخَافُ أَنْ يَقْتُلُونِ
*Akasema: Mola wangu Mlezi! Hakika mimi nilimuuwa mtu katika wao, kwa hivyo naogopa wataniuwa.
*He said, ‘My Lord! Indeed, I have killed one of their men, so I fear they will kill me.
28:34
وَأَخِي هَارُونُ هُوَ أَفْصَحُ مِنِّي لِسَانًا فَأَرْسِلْهُ مَعِيَ رِدْءًا يُصَدِّقُنِي ۖ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يُكَذِّبُونِ
*Na ndugu yangu Harun ni fasihi zaidi ulimi wake kuliko mimi. Basi mtume ende nami kunisaidia, ili anisadikishe. Hakika mimi nina khofu watanikadhibisha.
*Aaron, my brother—he is more eloquent than me in speech. So send him with me as a helper to confirm me, for I fear that they will impugn me.’
28:35
قَالَ سَنَشُدُّ عَضُدَكَ بِأَخِيكَ وَنَجْعَلُ لَكُمَا سُلْطَانًا فَلَا يَصِلُونَ إِلَيْكُمَا ۚ بِآيَاتِنَا أَنْتُمَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَكُمَا الْغَالِبُونَ
*(Mwenyezi Mungu) akasema: Tutautia nguvu mkono wako kwa nduguyo, na tutakupeni madaraka, hata wasikufikilieni. Kwa sababu ya Ishara zetu nyinyi na watakao kufuateni mtashinda.
*He said, ‘We will strengthen your arm by means of your brother, and invest both of you with such authority that they will not touch you. With the help of Our signs, you two, and those who follow the two of you, shall be the victors.’
28:36
فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ مُوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالُوا مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُفْتَرًى وَمَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِي آبَائِنَا الْأَوَّلِينَ
*Basi alipo wafikia Musa na Ishara zetu, walisema: Haya si chochote ila ni uchawi ulio zuliwa. Na hatukuyasikia haya kwa baba zetu wa zamani.
*When Moses brought them Our manifest signs, they said, ‘This is nothing but concocted magic. We never heard of such a thing among our forefathers.’
28:37
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ رَبِّي أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ جَاءَ بِالْهُدَىٰ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ وَمَنْ تَكُونُ لَهُ عَاقِبَةُ الدَّارِ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الظَّالِمُونَ
*Na Musa akasema: Mola wangu Mlezi ni Mwenye kujua kabisa nani anaye kuja na uwongofu unao toka kwake, na nani atakaye kuwa na mwisho mwema wa makaazi. Hakika wenye kudhulumu hawatafanikiwa.
*Moses said, ‘My Lord knows best who brings guidance from Him, and in whose favour the outcome of that abode will be. The wrongdoers will not be felicitous.’
28:38
وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمَلَأُ مَا عَلِمْتُ لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرِي فَأَوْقِدْ لِي يَا هَامَانُ عَلَى الطِّينِ فَاجْعَلْ لِي صَرْحًا لَعَلِّي أَطَّلِعُ إِلَىٰ إِلَٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّي لَأَظُنُّهُ مِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ
*Na Firauni akasema: Enyi waheshimiwa! Sijui kama mnaye mungu asiye kuwa mimi. Ewe Haman! Niwashie moto unichomee udongo, unijengee mnara nipate kumchungulia mungu wa Musa. Na hakika mimi namwona yeye ni katika waongo.
*Pharaoh said, ‘O [members of the] elite! I do not know of any god that you may have besides me. Haman, light for me a fire over clay, and build me a tower so that I may take a look at Moses’ god, and indeed I consider him to be a liar!’
28:39
وَاسْتَكْبَرَ هُوَ وَجُنُودُهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا يُرْجَعُونَ
*Na alipanda kiburi yeye na majeshi yake katika nchi bila ya haki, na wakadhania kuwa hawatarudishwa kwetu.
*He and his hosts unduly acted arrogantly in the land, and thought they would not be brought back to Us.
28:40
فَأَخَذْنَاهُ وَجُنُودَهُ فَنَبَذْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ ۖ فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الظَّالِمِينَ
*Basi tukamshika yeye na majeshi yake, na tukawatupa baharini. Basi hebu angalia ulikuwaje mwisho wa wenye kudhulumu?
*So We seized him and his hosts, and threw them into the sea. So observe how was the fate of the wrongdoers!
28:41
وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ ۖ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا يُنْصَرُونَ
*Na tuliwafanya ni waongozi waitao kwenye Moto. Na Siku ya Kiyama hawatanusuriwa.
*We made them leaders who invite to the Fire, and on the Day of Resurrection they will not receive any help.
28:42
وَأَتْبَعْنَاهُمْ فِي هَٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً ۖ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ هُمْ مِنَ الْمَقْبُوحِينَ
*Na tukawafuatishia laana katika dunia hii, na Siku ya Kiyama watakuwa miongoni mwa wanao chusha.
*We made a curse pursue them in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be among the disfigured.
28:43
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا أَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُونَ الْأُولَىٰ بَصَائِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
*Na hakika bila ya shaka tulimpa Musa Kitabu baada ya kwisha ziangamiza kaumu za mwanzo, ili kiwafumbue macho watu, na kiwe uwongofu, na rehema, ili wapate kukumbuka.
*Certainly We gave Moses the Book, after We had destroyed the former generations, as [a set of] eye-openers, guidance and mercy for mankind, so that they may take admonition.
28:44
وَمَا كُنْتَ بِجَانِبِ الْغَرْبِيِّ إِذْ قَضَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَى الْأَمْرَ وَمَا كُنْتَ مِنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ
*Wala wewe hukuwa upande wa magharibi tulipo mpa Musa amri, wala hukuwa katika walio hudhuria.
*You were not on the western side when We revealed the commandments to Moses, nor were you among the witnesses.
28:45
وَلَٰكِنَّا أَنْشَأْنَا قُرُونًا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُمُرُ ۚ وَمَا كُنْتَ ثَاوِيًا فِي أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ تَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
*Lakini Sisi tuliziumba kaumu, na ukawa mrefu umri juu yao. Wala hukuwa mkaazi na watu wa Madyana ukiwasomea Aya zetu. Lakini ni Sisi tulio kuwa tukiwatuma Mitume.
*But We brought forth other generations and time took its toll on them. You did not dwell among the people of Midian reciting to them Our signs, but it is We who are the senders [of the apostles].
28:46
وَمَا كُنْتَ بِجَانِبِ الطُّورِ إِذْ نَادَيْنَا وَلَٰكِنْ رَحْمَةً مِنْ رَبِّكَ لِتُنْذِرَ قَوْمًا مَا أَتَاهُمْ مِنْ نَذِيرٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
*Wala hukuwa kando ya mlima tulipo nadi. Lakini ni rehema itokayo kwa Mola wako Mlezi ili uwaonye watu wasio pata kufikiwa na mwonyaji kabla yako, huenda wakakumbuka.
*And you were not on the side of the Mount when We called out [to Moses], but [We have sent you as] a mercy from your Lord that you may warn a people to whom there did not come any warner before you, so that they may take admonition.
28:47
وَلَوْلَا أَنْ تُصِيبَهُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُوا رَبَّنَا لَوْلَا أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولًا فَنَتَّبِعَ آيَاتِكَ وَنَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
*Na usije kuwasibu msiba kwa iliyo yatanguliza mikono yao, wakasema: Ewe Mola wetu Mlezi! Mbona hukututumia Mtume nasi, tukafuata Ishara zako, na tukawa miongoni mwa Waumini?
*And lest—if an affliction were to befall them because of what their hands have sent ahead —they should say, ‘Our Lord! Why did You not send us an apostle so that we might have followed Your signs and been among the faithful?’
28:48
فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ عِنْدِنَا قَالُوا لَوْلَا أُوتِيَ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَىٰ ۚ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفُرُوا بِمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَىٰ مِنْ قَبْلُ ۖ قَالُوا سِحْرَانِ تَظَاهَرَا وَقَالُوا إِنَّا بِكُلٍّ كَافِرُونَ
*Ilipo wajia Haki kutoka kwetu walisema: Mbona hakupewa kama aliyo pewa Musa? Je! Kwani wao hawakuyakataa aliyo pewa Musa zamani? Walisema: Ni wachawi wawili wanasaidiana. Na wakasema: Hakika sisi tunawakataa wote.
*But when there came to them the truth from Us, they said, ‘Why has he not been given the like of what Moses was given?’ Did they not disbelieve what Moses was given before, and said, ‘Two magicians abetting each other,’ and said, ‘Indeed we disbelieve both of them’?
28:49
قُلْ فَأْتُوا بِكِتَابٍ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ هُوَ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْهُمَا أَتَّبِعْهُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
*Sema: Basi leteni Kitabu kinacho toka kwa Mwenyezi Mungu chenye kuongoka zaidi kuliko hivi viwili tukifuate, kama nyinyi mnasema kweli.
*Say, ‘If you are truthful, bring some Book from Allah better in guidance than the two on them so that I may follow it.’
28:50
فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَكَ فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّمَا يَتَّبِعُونَ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ ۚ وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنِ اتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ بِغَيْرِ هُدًى مِنَ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ
*Na ikiwa hawakuitikii, basi jua kuwa wanafuata pumbao lao tu. Na nani aliye potea zaidi kumshinda anaye fuata pumbao lake bila ya uwongofu utokao kwa Mwenyezi Mungu. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu hawaongoi watu wenye kudhulumu.
*Then if they do not respond to you[r] [summons], know that they only follow their desires, and who is more astray than him who follows his desires without any guidance from Allah? Indeed Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot.
28:51
وَلَقَدْ وَصَّلْنَا لَهُمُ الْقَوْلَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
*Na sasa kwa yakini tumewafikishia Neno ili wapate kukumbuka.
*Certainly We have carried on this discourse for them so that they may take admonition.
28:52
الَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ هُمْ بِهِ يُؤْمِنُونَ
*Wale tulio wapa Kitabu kabla yake wanakiamini hiki.
*Those to whom We gave the Book before it are the ones who believe in it,
28:53
وَإِذَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِهِ إِنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلِهِ مُسْلِمِينَ
*Na wanapo somewa wanasema: Tunaiamini. Hakika hii ni Haki inayo toka kwa Mola wetu Mlezi. Hakika sisi kabla yake tulikuwa ni Waislamu, tulio nyenyekea.
*and when it is recited to them, they say, ‘We believe in it. It is indeed the truth from our Lord. Indeed we were Muslims [even] before it [came].’
28:54
أُولَٰئِكَ يُؤْتَوْنَ أَجْرَهُمْ مَرَّتَيْنِ بِمَا صَبَرُوا وَيَدْرَءُونَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ السَّيِّئَةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ
*Basi hao watapewa ujira wao mara mbili kwa walivyo vumilia, na wakaondoa ubaya kwa wema, na wakatoa katika tuliyo waruzuku.
*Those will be given their reward two times for their patience. They repel evil [conduct] with good, and spend out of what We have provided them,
28:55
وَإِذَا سَمِعُوا اللَّغْوَ أَعْرَضُوا عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا لَنَا أَعْمَالُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَالُكُمْ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ لَا نَبْتَغِي الْجَاهِلِينَ
*Na wanapo sikia upuuzi hujitenga nao na husema: Sisi tuna vitendo vyetu, na nyinyi mna vitendo vyenu. Salamun Alaikum, Amani juu yenu! Sisi hatutaki kujibizana na wajinga.
*and when they hear vain talk, they avoid it and say, ‘Our deeds belong to us, and your deeds belong to you. Peace be to you. We do not court the ignorant.’
28:56
إِنَّكَ لَا تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۚ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ
*Kwa hakika wewe humwongoi umpendaye, lakini Mwenyezi Mungu humwongoa amtakaye. Na Yeye ndiye anawajua zaidi waongokao.
*You cannot guide whomever you wish, but [it is] Allah [who] guides whomever He wishes, and He knows best those who are guided.
28:57
وَقَالُوا إِنْ نَتَّبِعِ الْهُدَىٰ مَعَكَ نُتَخَطَّفْ مِنْ أَرْضِنَا ۚ أَوَلَمْ نُمَكِّنْ لَهُمْ حَرَمًا آمِنًا يُجْبَىٰ إِلَيْهِ ثَمَرَاتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ رِزْقًا مِنْ لَدُنَّا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
*Na wakasema: Tukiufuata uwongofu huu pamoja nawe tutanyakuliwa kutoka nchi yetu. Je! Kwani Sisi hatukuwaweka imara katika pahala patakatifu, penye amani, ambapo huletewa matunda ya kila aina kuwa ni riziki itokayo kwetu? Lakini wengi wao hawajui.
*They say, ‘If we follow the guidance with you, we will be forced out of our territory.’ Did We not establish a secure sanctuary for them where fruits of all kinds are brought as a provision from Us? But most of them do not know.
28:58
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ بَطِرَتْ مَعِيشَتَهَا ۖ فَتِلْكَ مَسَاكِنُهُمْ لَمْ تُسْكَنْ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ۖ وَكُنَّا نَحْنُ الْوَارِثِينَ
*Na miji mingapi iliyo jifakharisha tumeiangamiza! Na hayo maskani yao hayakukaliwa tena baada yao, ila kwa uchache tu. Na Sisi ndio tumekuwa warithi wao.
*How many a town We have destroyed that exulted in its lifestyle! There lie their dwellings, uninhabited after them except by a few, and We were the [sole] inheritors.
28:59
وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ الْقُرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ يَبْعَثَ فِي أُمِّهَا رَسُولًا يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِنَا ۚ وَمَا كُنَّا مُهْلِكِي الْقُرَىٰ إِلَّا وَأَهْلُهَا ظَالِمُونَ
*Na Mola wako Mlezi haangamizi miji mpaka ampeleke Mtume katika miji yake mikuu awasomee Ishara zetu. Wala hatuiangamizi miji mpaka watu wake wawe madhaalimu.
*Your Lord would not destroy the towns until He had raised an apostle in their mother city to recite to them Our signs. We would never destroy the towns except when their people were wrongdoers.
28:60
وَمَا أُوتِيتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتُهَا ۚ وَمَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
*Na chochote mlicho pewa ni matumizi ya maisha ya dunia na pambo lake. Na yaliyoko kwa Mwenyezi Mungu ndio bora na yatakayo baki zaidi. Basi je, hamfahamu?
*Whatever things you have been given are only the wares of the life of this world and its glitter, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting. Will you not exercise your reason?
28:61
أَفَمَنْ وَعَدْنَاهُ وَعْدًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ لَاقِيهِ كَمَنْ مَتَّعْنَاهُ مَتَاعَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ هُوَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنَ الْمُحْضَرِينَ
*Je! Yule tuliye muahidi ahadi nzuri, tena naye akayapata, ni kama tuliye mstarehesha kwa starehe za maisha ya duniani, na kisha Siku ya Kiyama akawa miongoni mwa wanao hudhurishwa?
*Is he to whom We have given a good promise, which he will receive, like him whom We have provided the wares of the life of this world, but who will be arraigned on the Day of Resurrection?
28:62
وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَائِيَ الَّذِينَ كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ
*Na siku atakapo waita na akasema: Wako wapi mlio kuwa mkidai kuwa ni washirika wangu?
*The day He will call out to them and ask, ‘Where are My ‘partners’ that you used to claim?’
28:63
قَالَ الَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ رَبَّنَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ أَغْوَيْنَا أَغْوَيْنَاهُمْ كَمَا غَوَيْنَا ۖ تَبَرَّأْنَا إِلَيْكَ ۖ مَا كَانُوا إِيَّانَا يَعْبُدُونَ
*Watasema wale iliyo thibiti juu yao kauli: Mola wetu Mlezi! Hawa ndio tulio wapoteza. Tuliwapoteza kama tulivyo potea sisi. Tunajitenga nao mbele yako. Hawakuwa wakituabudu sisi.
*Those against whom the word had become due will say, ‘Our Lord! These are the ones whom we have perverted. We perverted them as we were perverse ourselves. We repudiate them before You: it was not us that they worshipped.’
28:64
وَقِيلَ ادْعُوا شُرَكَاءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَهُمْ وَرَأَوُا الْعَذَابَ ۚ لَوْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَهْتَدُونَ
*Na itasemwa: Waiteni hao miungu wa kishirikina wenu! Basi watawaita, lakini hawatawaitikia, na wataiona adhabu; laiti wangeli kuwa wameongoka!
*It will be said, ‘Invoke your partners!’ So they will invoke them, but they will not respond to them, and they will sight the punishment, wishing they had followed guidance.
28:65
وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَا أَجَبْتُمُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
*Na siku atapo waita na akasema: Mliwajibu nini Mitume?
*The day He will call out to them and say, ‘What response did you give to the apostles?’
28:66
فَعَمِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَنْبَاءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَهُمْ لَا يَتَسَاءَلُونَ
*Basi zitawapotea khabari siku hiyo, nao hawataulizana.
*That day all information will be withheld from them, so they will not question one another.
28:67
فَأَمَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَعَسَىٰ أَنْ يَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُفْلِحِينَ
*Ama mwenye kutubu na akaamini na akatenda mema, huyo atakuwa miongoni mwa wenye kufanikiwa.
*As for him who repents, has faith and acts righteously, maybe he will be among the felicitous.
28:68
وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ وَيَخْتَارُ ۗ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
*Na Mola wako Mlezi huumba na huteuwa atakavyo. Viumbe hawana khiari. Mwenyezi Mungu ametukuka na ametakasika na hao wanao washirikisha naye.
*Your Lord creates whatever He wishes and chooses: they have no choice. Immaculate is Allah and exalted above [having] any partners that they ascribe [to Him].
28:69
وَرَبُّكَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ
*Na Mola wako Mlezi anayajua yaliyo ficha vifua vyao, na wanayo yatangaza.
*Your Lord knows whatever their breasts conceal, and whatever they disclose.
28:70
وَهُوَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْأُولَىٰ وَالْآخِرَةِ ۖ وَلَهُ الْحُكْمُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
*Naye ni Mwenyezi Mungu ambaye hapana mungu isipo kuwa Yeye. Sifa zote njema ni zake Yeye, mwanzo na mwisho. Na hukumu ni yake Yeye. Na kwake Yeye mtarejeshwa.
*He is Allah, there is no god except Him. All praise belongs to Him in this world and the Hereafter. All judgement belongs to Him, and to Him you will be brought back.
28:71
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ اللَّيْلَ سَرْمَدًا إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِضِيَاءٍ ۖ أَفَلَا تَسْمَعُونَ
*Sema: Mwaonaje, Mwenyezi Mungu angeli ufanya usiku umekukalieni moja kwa moja mpaka Siku ya Kiyama, mungu gani asiye kuwa Mwenyezi Mungu atakaye kuleteeni mwangaza? Basi je, hamsikii?
*Say, ‘Tell me, if Allah were to make the night perpetual for you until the Day of Resurrection, what god other than Allah can bring you light? Will you not listen?’
28:72
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ النَّهَارَ سَرْمَدًا إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِلَيْلٍ تَسْكُنُونَ فِيهِ ۖ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
*Sema: Mwaonaje, Mwenyezi Mungu angeli ufanya mchana umekukalieni moja kwa moja mpaka Siku ya Kiyama, mungu gani asiye kuwa Mwenyezi Mungu ataye kuleteeni usiku mkapumzika humo? Basi je, hamwoni?
*Say, ‘Tell me, if Allah were to make the day perpetual for you until the Day of Resurrection, what god other than Allah can bring you night wherein you can rest? Will you not perceive?’
28:73
وَمِنْ رَحْمَتِهِ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لِتَسْكُنُوا فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
*Na ni katika rehema zake amekufanyieni usiku na mchana mpate kupumzika humo na mtafute fadhila zake, na ili mpate kushukuru.
*He has made for you the night and the day out of His mercy, so that you may rest therein and that you may seek His bounty and so that you may give thanks.
28:74
وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَائِيَ الَّذِينَ كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ
*Na siku atakapo waita na akasema: Wako wapi hao mlio kuwa mkidai kuwa ni washirika wangu?
*The day He will call out to them and say, ‘Where are My ‘partners’ that you used to claim?’
28:75
وَنَزَعْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا فَقُلْنَا هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ فَعَلِمُوا أَنَّ الْحَقَّ لِلَّهِ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ
*Na tutatoa shahidi katika kila umma, na tutasema: Leteni hoja zenu! Hapo watajua kwamba hakika kweli ni ya Mwenyezi Mungu, na yatawapotea yale waliyo kuwa wakiyazua.
*We shall draw from every nation a witness and say, ‘Produce your evidence.’ Then they will know that all reality belongs to Allah and what they used to fabricate will forsake them.
28:76
إِنَّ قَارُونَ كَانَ مِنْ قَوْمِ مُوسَىٰ فَبَغَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْكُنُوزِ مَا إِنَّ مَفَاتِحَهُ لَتَنُوءُ بِالْعُصْبَةِ أُولِي الْقُوَّةِ إِذْ قَالَ لَهُ قَوْمُهُ لَا تَفْرَحْ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْفَرِحِينَ
*Hakika Qaruni alikuwa katika watu wa Musa, lakini aliwafanyia dhulma. Na tulimpa khazina ambazo funguo zake zinawatopeza watu wenye nguvu kuzichukua. Walipo mwambia watu wake: Usijigambe! Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu hawapendi wanao jigamba.
*Korah indeed belonged to the people of Moses, but he bullied them. We had given him so much treasures that their chests indeed proved heavy for a band of stalwarts. When his people said to him, ‘Do not boast! Indeed Allah does not like the boasters.
28:77
وَابْتَغِ فِيمَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ ۖ وَلَا تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَأَحْسِنْ كَمَا أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَلَا تَبْغِ الْفَسَادَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِينَ
*Na utafute, kwa aliyo kupa Mwenyezi Mungu, makaazi ya Akhera. Wala usisahau fungu lako la dunia. Nawe fanya wema kama Mwenyezi Mungu alivyo kufanyia wema wewe. Wala usitafute kufanya ufisadi katika ardhi. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu hawapendi mafisadi.
*Seek the abode of the Hereafter by means of what Allah has given you, while not forgetting your share of this world. Be good [to others] just as Allah has been good to you, and do not try to cause corruption in the land. Indeed Allah does not like the agents of corruption.’
28:78
قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عِنْدِي ۚ أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَهْلَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا ۚ وَلَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذُنُوبِهِمُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ
*Akasema: Kwa hakika nimepewa haya kwa sababu ya ilimu niliyo nayo. Je! Hakujua kwamba Mwenyezi Mungu kesha waangamiza, katika vizazi vya walio kabla yake, watu walio kuwa wenye ngubvu zaidi kuliko yeye, na wenye makundi makubwa zaidi kuliko yake. Na wakosefu hawataulizwa khabari ya dhambi zao.
*He said, ‘I have indeed been given [all] this because of the knowledge that I have.’ Did he not know that Allah had already destroyed before him some of the generations who were more powerful than him and greater in amassing [wealth]? The guilty will not be questioned about their sins.
28:79
فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ فِي زِينَتِهِ ۖ قَالَ الَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا يَا لَيْتَ لَنَا مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ قَارُونُ إِنَّهُ لَذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ
*Basi akawatokea watu wake katika pambo lake. Wakasema wale walio kuwa wanataka maisha ya duniani: Laiti tungeli kuwa tunayo kama aliyo pewa Qaruni! Hakika yeye ni mwenye bahati kubwa.
*So he emerged before his people in his finery. Those who desired the life of the world said, ‘We wish we had like what Korah has been given! Indeed he is greatly fortunate.’
28:80
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِمَنْ آمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَلَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا الصَّابِرُونَ
*Na wakasema wale walio pewa ilimu: Ole wenu! Malipo ya Mwenyezi Mungu ni bora kwa mwenye kuamini na akatenda mema. Wala hawatapewa hayo isipo kuwa wenye subira.
*Those who were given knowledge said [to them], ‘Woe to you! Allah’s reward is better for someone who has faith and acts righteously, and no one will receive it except the patient.’
28:81
فَخَسَفْنَا بِهِ وَبِدَارِهِ الْأَرْضَ فَمَا كَانَ لَهُ مِنْ فِئَةٍ يَنْصُرُونَهُ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُنْتَصِرِينَ
*Basi tukamdidimiza yeye na nyumba yake katika ardhi; wala halikuwepo kundi lolote la kumnusuru kwa Mwenyezi Mungu, wala hakuwa miongoni mwa wanao jitetea.
*So We caused the earth to swallow him and his house, and he had no party that might protect him from Allah, nor could he rescue himself.
28:82
وَأَصْبَحَ الَّذِينَ تَمَنَّوْا مَكَانَهُ بِالْأَمْسِ يَقُولُونَ وَيْكَأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ ۖ لَوْلَا أَنْ مَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَا ۖ وَيْكَأَنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْكَافِرُونَ
*Na wale walio tamani kuwa pahala pake jana, wakawa wanasema: Kumbe Mwenyezi Mungu humkunjulia riziki amtakaye katika waja wake, na humdhikisha amtakaye. Ingeli kuwa Mwenyezi Mungu hakutufanyia hisani angeli tudidimiza. Kumbe makafiri hawafanikiwi!
*By dawn those who longed to be in his place the day before were saying, ‘Don’t you see that Allah expands the provision for whomever He wishes of His servants, and tightens it? Had Allah not shown us favour, He might have made the earth swallow us too. Don’t you see that the faithless do not prosper?’
28:83
تِلْكَ الدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ نَجْعَلُهَا لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُرِيدُونَ عُلُوًّا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فَسَادًا ۚ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
*Hayo ndiyo makaazi ya Akhera, tumewafanyia wale wasio taka kujitukuza duniani wala ufisadi. Na mwisho mwema ni wa wachamngu.
*This is the abode of the Hereafter, which We shall grant to those who do not desire to domineer in the earth nor to cause corruption, and the outcome will be in favour of the Godwary.
28:84
مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا ۖ وَمَنْ جَاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَا يُجْزَى الَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
*Atakaye tenda wema atapata malipo bora kuliko huo wema alio utenda. Na atakaye tenda uovu, hawalipwi watendao uovu ila waliyo kuwa wakiyatenda.
*Whoever brings virtue shall receive [a reward] better than it, but whoever brings vice—those who commit misdeeds shall not be requited except for what they used to do.
28:85
إِنَّ الَّذِي فَرَضَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ لَرَادُّكَ إِلَىٰ مَعَادٍ ۚ قُلْ رَبِّي أَعْلَمُ مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْهُدَىٰ وَمَنْ هُوَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ
*Hakika aliye kulazimisha kuifuata Qur´ani hapana shaka atakurudisha pahala pa marejeo. Sema: Mola wangu Mlezi ndiye anaye mjua zaidi mwenye kuja na uwongofu, na nani aliyomo katika upotofu ulio dhaahiri.
*Indeed He who has revealed to you the Quran will surely restore you to the place of return. Say, ‘My Lord knows best him who brings guidance and him who is in manifest error.’
28:86
وَمَا كُنْتَ تَرْجُو أَنْ يُلْقَىٰ إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابُ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِنْ رَبِّكَ ۖ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ ظَهِيرًا لِلْكَافِرِينَ
*Nawe hukuwa unataraji kuletewa Kitabu; lakini ni rehema tu ya Mola wako Mlezi. Basi usiwe msaidizi wa makafiri.
*You did not expect that the Book would be delivered to you; but it was a mercy from your Lord. So do not be ever an advocate of the faithless.
28:87
وَلَا يَصُدُّنَّكَ عَنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أُنْزِلَتْ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَادْعُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
*Wala wasikuzuie kuzifuata Aya za Mwenyezi Mungu baada ya kuteremshiwa wewe. Na lingania kwa Mola wako Mlezi, wala usiwe miongoni mwa washirikina.
*Do not ever let them bar you from Allah’s signs after they have been sent down to you. Invite to your Lord, and never be one of the polytheists.
28:88
وَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ ۘ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجْهَهُ ۚ لَهُ الْحُكْمُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
*Wala usimwombe pamoja na Mwenyezi Mungu mungu mwenginewe. Hapana mungu ila Yeye. Kila kitu kitaangamia isipo kuwa Yeye. Hukumu iko kwake, na kwake mtarejezwa.
*And do not invoke another god besides Allah; there is no god except Him. Everything is to perish except His Face. All judgement belongs to Him, and to Him you will be brought back.
