Sura 49 - Al-Hujuraat

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Kwa Jina La Mwenyezi Mungu, Mwingi Wa Rehema, Mwenye Kurehemu.
49:1
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُقَدِّمُوا بَيْنَ يَدَيِ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
*Enyi mlio amini! Msitangulie mbele ya Mwenyezi Mungu na Mtume wake, na mcheni Mwenyezi Mungu. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwenye kusikia, Mwenye kujua.
*O you who have faith! Do not venture ahead of Allah and His Apostle, and be wary of Allah. Indeed Allah is all-hearing, all-knowing.
49:2
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَرْفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ وَلَا تَجْهَرُوا لَهُ بِالْقَوْلِ كَجَهْرِ بَعْضِكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ أَنْ تَحْبَطَ أَعْمَالُكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ
*Enyi mlio amini! Msinyanyue sauti zenu kuliko sauti ya Nabii, wala msiseme naye kwa kelele kama mnavyo semezana nyinyi kwa nyinyi, visije vitendo vyenu vikaharibika, na hali hamtambui.
*O you who have faith! Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, and do not speak aloud to him like you shout to one another, lest your works should fail without your being aware.
49:3
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَغُضُّونَ أَصْوَاتَهُمْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ امْتَحَنَ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۚ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
*Kwa hakika wanao teremsha sauti zao mbele ya Mtume wa Mwenyezi Mungu, hao ndio Mwenyezi Mungu amezisafisha nyoyo zao kwa uchamngu. Hao watakuwa na maghfira na ujira mkubwa.
*Indeed those who lower their voices in the presence of the Apostle of Allah—they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for Godwariness. For them will be forgiveness and a great reward.
49:4
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُنَادُونَكَ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحُجُرَاتِ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ
*Hakika hao wanao kuita nawe uko nyuma ya vyumba, wengi wao hawana akili.
*Indeed those who call you from behind the apartments, most of them do not use their reason.
49:5
وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوا حَتَّىٰ تَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ ۚ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
*Na lau wao wangeli ngojea mpaka uwatokee ingeli kuwa kheri kwao. Na Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwenye maghfira, Mwenye kurehemu.
*Had they been patient until you came out for them, it would have been better for them, and Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.
49:6
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنْ جَاءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌ بِنَبَإٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوا أَنْ تُصِيبُوا قَوْمًا بِجَهَالَةٍ فَتُصْبِحُوا عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نَادِمِينَ
*Enyi mlio amini! Akikujieni mpotovu na khabari yoyote, ichunguzeni, msije mkawasibu watu kwa kuto jua, na mkawa tena wenye kujuta kwa mliyo yatenda.
*O you who have faith! If a vicious character brings you some news, verify it, lest you should visit [harm] on some people out of ignorance, and then become regretful for what you have done.
49:7
وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ فِيكُمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ۚ لَوْ يُطِيعُكُمْ فِي كَثِيرٍ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ لَعَنِتُّمْ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ حَبَّبَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْإِيمَانَ وَزَيَّنَهُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ وَكَرَّهَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْكُفْرَ وَالْفُسُوقَ وَالْعِصْيَانَ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الرَّاشِدُونَ
*Na jueni kuwa Mtume wa Mwenyezi Mungu yuko nanyi. Lau angeli kut´iini katika mambo mengi, bila ya shaka mngeli taabika. Lakini Mwenyezi Mungu amekupendezeeni Imani, na akaipamba katika nyoyo zenu, na amekufanyeni muuchukie ukafiri, na upotovu, na uasi. Hao ndio walio ongoka,
*Know that the Apostle of Allah is among you. Should he comply with you in many matters, you would surely suffer. But Allah has endeared faith to you and made it appealing in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you faithlessness, transgression and disobedience. It is such who are the right-minded—
49:8
فَضْلًا مِنَ اللَّهِ وَنِعْمَةً ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
*Kwa fadhila za Mwenyezi Mungu na neema zake. Na Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwenye kujua, Mwenye hikima.
*a grace and blessing from Allah, and Allah is all-knowing, all-wise.
49:9
وَإِنْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ اقْتَتَلُوا فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَإِنْ بَغَتْ إِحْدَاهُمَا عَلَى الْأُخْرَىٰ فَقَاتِلُوا الَّتِي تَبْغِي حَتَّىٰ تَفِيءَ إِلَىٰ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَإِنْ فَاءَتْ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَهُمَا بِالْعَدْلِ وَأَقْسِطُوا ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِينَ
*Na ikiwa makundi mawili katika Waumini yanapigana, basi yapatanisheni. Na likiwa moja la hao linamdhulumu mwenzie, basi lipigeni linalo dhulumu mpaka lirejee kwenye amri ya Mwenyezi Mungu. Na likirudi basi yapatanisheni kwa uadilifu. Na hukumuni kwa haki. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu anawapenda wanao hukumu kwa haki.
*If two groups of the faithful fight one another, make peace between them. But if one party of them aggresses against the other, fight the one which aggresses until it returns to Allah’s ordinance. Then, if it returns, make peace between them fairly, and do justice. Indeed Allah loves the just.
49:10
إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
*Hakika Waumini ni ndugu, basi patanisheni baina ya ndugu zenu, na mcheni Mwenyezi Mungu ili mrehemewe.
*The faithful are indeed brothers. Therefore, make peace between your brothers and be wary of Allah, so that you may receive [His] mercy.
49:11
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا يَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌ مِنْ قَوْمٍ عَسَىٰ أَنْ يَكُونُوا خَيْرًا مِنْهُمْ وَلَا نِسَاءٌ مِنْ نِسَاءٍ عَسَىٰ أَنْ يَكُنَّ خَيْرًا مِنْهُنَّ ۖ وَلَا تَلْمِزُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا بِالْأَلْقَابِ ۖ بِئْسَ الِاسْمُ الْفُسُوقُ بَعْدَ الْإِيمَانِ ۚ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَتُبْ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ
*Enyi mlio amini! Wanaume wasiwadharau wanaume wenzao, wala wanawake wasiwadharau wanawake wenzao. Huenda hao wakawa bora kuliko wao. Wala msivunjiane hishima, wala msiitane kwa majina ya kejeli. Ni uovu kutumia jina baya baada ya kwisha amini. Na wasio tubu, hao ndio wenye kudhulumu.
*O you who have faith! Let not any people ridicule another people: it may be that they are better than they are; nor let women [ridicule] women: it may be that they are better than they are. And do not defame one another, nor insult one another by [calling] nicknames. How evil are profane names subsequent to faith! As for those who are not penitent [of their past conduct]—such are the wrongdoers.
49:12
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اجْتَنِبُوا كَثِيرًا مِنَ الظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ إِثْمٌ ۖ وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا وَلَا يَغْتَبْ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا ۚ أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ لَحْمَ أَخِيهِ مَيْتًا فَكَرِهْتُمُوهُ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَوَّابٌ رَحِيمٌ
*Enyi mlio amini! Jiepusheni na dhana nyingi, kwani baadhi ya dhana ni dhambi. Wala msipelelezane, wala msisengenyane nyinyi kwa nyinyi. Je! Yupo katika nyinyi anaye penda kuila nyama ya nduguye aliye kufa? Mnalichukia hilo! Na mcheni Mwenyezi Mungu. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwenye kupokea toba, Mwenye kurehemu.
*O you who have faith! Avoid much suspicion; indeed some suspicions are sins. And do not spy on one another or backbite. Will any of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it. Be wary of Allah; indeed Allah is all-clement, all-merciful.
49:13
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ وَأُنْثَىٰ وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَائِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوا ۚ إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ
*Enyi watu! Hakika Sisi tumekuumbeni kutokana na mwanamume na mwanamke. Na tumekujaalieni kuwa ni mataifa na makabila ili mjuane. Hakika aliye mtukufu zaidi kati yenu kwa Mwenyezi Mungu ni huyo aliye mchamngu zaidi katika nyinyi. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwenye kujua, Mwenye khabari.
*O mankind! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you nations and tribes that you may identify yourselves with one another. Indeed the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most Godwary among you. Indeed Allah is all-knowing, all-aware.
49:14
قَالَتِ الْأَعْرَابُ آمَنَّا ۖ قُلْ لَمْ تُؤْمِنُوا وَلَٰكِنْ قُولُوا أَسْلَمْنَا وَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ الْإِيمَانُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ تُطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ لَا يَلِتْكُمْ مِنْ أَعْمَالِكُمْ شَيْئًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
*Mabedui wamesema: Tumeamini. Sema: Hamjaamini, lakini semeni: Tumesilimu. Kwani Imani haijaingia katika nyoyo zenu. Na mkimt´ii Mwenyezi Mungu na Mtume wake, hatakupunguzieni chochote katika vitendo vyenu. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwenye kusamehe, Mwenye kurehemu.
*The Bedouins say, ‘We have faith.’ Say, ‘You do not have faith yet; rather, say, ‘‘We have embraced Islam,’’ for faith has not yet entered into your hearts. Yet if you obey Allah and His Apostle, He will not stint anything of [the reward of] your works. Indeed Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.’
49:15
إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْتَابُوا وَجَاهَدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الصَّادِقُونَ
*Hakika Waumini ni wale walio muamini Mwenyezi Mungu na Mtume wake tena wasitie shaka kabisa, na wakapigana Jihadi katika Njia ya Mwenyezi Mungu kwa mali yao na nafsi zao. Hao ndio wakweli.
*The faithful are only those who have attained faith in Allah and His Apostle and then have never doubted, and who wage jihad with their possessions and their persons in the way of Allah. It is they who are the truthful.
49:16
قُلْ أَتُعَلِّمُونَ اللَّهَ بِدِينِكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
*Sema: Ati ndio mnamfundisha Mwenyezi Mungu Dini yenu, na hali Mwenyezi Mungu anayajua ya katika mbingu na ardhi, na Mwenyezi Mungu anajua kila kitu?
*Say, ‘Will you inform Allah about your faith while Allah knows whatever there is in the heavens and whatever there is in the earth, and Allah has knowledge of all things?’
49:17
يَمُنُّونَ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ أَسْلَمُوا ۖ قُلْ لَا تَمُنُّوا عَلَيَّ إِسْلَامَكُمْ ۖ بَلِ اللَّهُ يَمُنُّ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ هَدَاكُمْ لِلْإِيمَانِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
*Wanakusimbulia kuwa wamesilimu! Sema: Msinisimbulie kwa kusilimu kwenu. Bali Mwenyezi Mungu ndiye aliye kufanyieni hisani kwa kukuongoeni kwenye Imani, ikiwa nyinyi ni wakweli.
*They count it as a favour to you that they have embraced Islam. Say, ‘Do not count your embracing of Islam as a favour to me. No, it is Allah who has done you a favour in that He has guided you to faith, if you are truthful [in your claim].
49:18
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ غَيْبَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
*Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu anajua siri za mbingu na ardhi. Na Mwenyezi Mungu anayaona myatendayo.
*Indeed Allah knows the Unseen of the heavens and the earth, and Allah watches what you do.’
